Trailers, including caravans, can start to vibrate uncontrollably even at low speeds and without any warning. Situations like that can become critical very quickly and usually have dramatic consequences. They can be caused by overtaking vehicles, ruts, crosswinds or a sudden evasive manoeuvre.

The LEAS Universal is the world's first ESP system with road approval (electronic stabilisation programme) for braked trailers, designed for retrofitting to trailers of any make or design, including all caravans. An optimal safety system for the user and a major contribution to road safety.

With the LEAS Universal System you get monitoring electronics on board, combined with a computer-controlled spring, which automatically builds up an optimum braking force according to physical laws by means of a set force in just 0.06 seconds, and activates the brake of the caravan until the electronics no longer receives any impulses. The car/trailer combination stretches and returns to a stable position. LEAS Universal is a robust and reliable system.

This spring technology always guarantees a constant braking force of approx. 15 % and is independent of voltage fluctuations in the general electric circuit of the car/trailer combination.

Every operation (braking), including the detection run during commissioning, is acoustically signalled to the driver via radio so that they do not have to turn their gaze away from the road for the information.
